15.Sept.2008 - Street Fighter Tribute Art Book

Mon Sep 15, 2008, 11:51 PM
I just got my copy of the SF Tribute artbook from UDON Entertianment in the mail, today.

Oh. My. God.

This is quite possibly the most incredible artbook I have ever seen. All of the work except for one piece is from non-Capcom employees, so it truly is a tribute to Street Fighter's legacy and legend.

With artists from comic book legends such as Adam Hughes and Jeff Scott Campbell to newer comic artists such as Mark Brooks and Danimation to UDON's own Alvin Lee, Arnold Tsang, Omar Dogan, Joe Ng, and Jeffrey "Chamba" Cruz to Penny Arcade's Gabe to former GamePro Magazine art director Francis Mao to fan works from all over the world - Including the USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, and more - There is not a single bad piece in this entire book. You just want to cherish each and every work, from the hyper-photorealistic works to the mega-abstract, to that odd section in the middle of the book that has, like, 17 Blanka pieces in a row.

There is so much amazing artwork and so much depth in this book that you could not possibly memorize the entire thing in a single lifetime.

Presented on glossy stock paper, throw in memories of the first time some of the artists ever played SF, and a sexy, shiny, silver hard cover, a dustjacket adorned with the women of Street Fighter and just the right amount of foil trim, and you've got yourself one amazing masterpiece.

100 percent worth the 80 dollars I spent on the book, plus 20 bucks shipping. And there ain't much that I would claim to be worth 100 dollars.

While the hardcover edition is sold out, you can get the paperback version from Amazon for under 30 dollars: [link]

If you love Street Fighter, or just want a book full of gorgeous artwork, I cannot recommend this highly enough.

Go buy it. Seriously.
